Everything you need to know about Face Primer.

Having a good skin texture is a blessing. No matter how good makeup you do, it is very important to have good skin. Following a skincare routine is must to maintain the texture of your skin. Prepping the skin, prior to the makeup application is the most important step. It involves Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing, SPF (optional) and Priming up the face. Following these steps will result in long-lasting makeup, even makeup application, no cracked makeup line, no cakey makeup.

What is a Primer?

Primer is a beauty product. Primer creates an extra layer between your skin and makeup. Primer is used as Pre-Makeup skin care. Makeup primer is the base of your foundation. It is the barrier between your skin and makeup. Primer is very soft in touch. Primers are available in a different formulation like cream primers, gel-based primers, hydrating primers, silicone-based primers you can select as per your skin type.

What Primer Does?

Primer fills in small imperfections like pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It creates a smooth surface on your skin. Primer makes your foundation blend easily and evenly. Primer makes your makeup long-lasting and prevents your makeup from getting smudged. Primer helps to make your skin even more young-looking and active.  Primers make makeup application easy and reduce the amount you use. It results in long-lasting, beautiful makeup. Use a good primer, which suits your skin type and say goodbye to cakey, smudged makeup.

What primer suits which skin?

Before selecting your beauty or makeup products it’s very important to know your skin type. It’s very important to know what your skin actually needs. Not every product is meant to suit all skin type. If you have normal to dry skin type use a hydrating or moisturizing primer. Now when you have understood what is the use of a primer, what primer suits what skin and as selected the primer for your skin, it is very important to know when to apply the Primer.

Primer is applied after your CTM routine, and before your Base Makeup. Click Here to read more about CTM (Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing). Never apply the primer before CTM routine, as it will not be effective. Take an adequate amount of Primer, dot it on your face, blend in with the first two fingers only, no need to use both the hands. Let it sit on your skin for a minute and once it is completely absorbed carry on with your makeup.

CTM Routine

Tired of dealing with dull skin? I have a solution for you. Have a proper skin care routine, which not only helps you to get a good skin, but also maintains the skin texture. For me, skin texture plays a very important role, no matter if you have a fair skin or brown skin, if you have a clear face, you will always end up looking beautiful.

The basic routine which everyone should follow regardless of age is CTM Routine. CTM routine is basically a skin care regime which involves Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing. You can’t have an alluring skin overnight; you need to work for it. Follow CTM routine at least for 21 days to have a visible difference in your skin. Once you followed this routine, I guarantee you will never look back.

Before setting a routine, I believe it is very important to understand what your skin needs. Select and use products wisely as per your skin type. If your friend or a sister is using one product, and they are getting good results from it that doesn’t mean you will guaranteed get the results. Not every product suit everyone. Before using any product always have a patch test. Don’t use un-necessary products on your skin. Use minimal products which suits you the best.

Now here comes the question What CTM is?

CTM is basically a skin care routine. This routine involves 3 steps- Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing. Take your favourite cleanser which suits you the best and apply it all over your face, wet your fingers and massage in the circular motion. Make sure to massage it properly all over the face, avoid using on the eyes. Don’t forget to massage your neck. You can massage in the circular motion for 30 sec- 60 sec. Clean your face with water and pat dry with microfiber towel, for better results you can use Vinaura Cosmetics Microfiber towel which helps to maintain the texture of the skin. Normal rough towel can be harsh on the skin. Make sure to use soft towel for your face and don’t use a body towel on your face due to hygiene purpose. Have a Microfiber Towel for your face.

Just after cleansing apply toner all over your face, avoid eyes. After cleansing the facial pores tends to get open, so it is very important to close down the pores. And toner help us to close the facial pores. Mist your toner all over the face and let it dry for 30 seconds. Toner soaks up all the leftover oil from the face. More importantly, toner will help soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin while restoring its delicate pH balance.

After cleansing, skin lose all its moisture, so its very important to retain that moisture. Apply moisturiser as per your skin type. Moisturizer soothes and hydrates your skin. Regular use of moisturiser reduces the skin problems, and prevent the skin from getting it too dry or too oily. People with oily skin tends to skip the moisturiser, and this is all wrong. No matter what your skin type is, your skin needs an ample amount of moisture. Once your toner is dry, apply your moisturiser with 2 fingers only, no need to use your both hands. Massage it with 2 fingers and let it settle in your skin. After applying your moisturiser wait for 10-30 seconds, and later apply other products.

It is advised to follow a CTM routine at least 2 times a day. Don’t skip the CTM routine before stepping out of the house in the morning and before going to bed at night. When you are going for a sleep, make sure your skin is clean and hydrated properly. Poor hydration of the skin results to the skin problems. If you have an oily skin it is advised to follow CTM routine every 4-6 hours. Make sure to have a patch test of the products first. Not every product suit everyone.

Following CTM routine for at least 21 days results in:

*Clean and Hydrated skin.

*Makes your skin look younger and beautiful.

*Natural glow to the skin.

*Maintains the pH balance of the skin.

*Prevents from the skin problems.
